Levi Dendy - Wednesday, July 28th, 2010 1:43 AM
Do you know if the original spelling of our last name was Denby. I don't have a Dendy book anyhow. I think it only goes back to the 1400's. I was born in Tupelo. It's so strange where Dendy's show up in life. Most of dad's side of the family is from Houston, MS. Any of this sound familiar to you? Nice music. I play guitar and a little jazz piano. Got a music degree from USM and did some work with Mel Bay for a while but now I'm back in school finishing a computer science degree. I still teach but don't play out as much as I used to. Still got it though. Never know where a Dendy will turn up these days.

Hey John, you're not on Pandora Radio, so I suggested you.
Best from Illinois, Dawn

Jon Dendy - Thursday, February 18th, 2010 9:44 PM
Looking back at your roots in Alabama and Mississippi, I'd have to say we're related somewhere. My fathers from MS which is why I'm lead to believe I'm right. I'm a senior at berklee college of music in boston, as a jazz vocalist/pianist, and I find that discovering another Jon Dendy who performs jazz, blues, etc is just way too strange. Please check out my music and tell me what you think! Best of luck to you John!

Hey John, congratulations on your new house and wouldya, couldya consider playing music for our 5th Ave neighborhood party Wed. June 10th ANYTIME between 5-10 pm? We got a permit to block off the street between Raleigh and Beattie for our potluck in the middle of the street, up and down the street. There is a rumor a kid circus and at least one unicycle as part of that, and we want you, your friends, your music too. Lin and Shaun will have a few school friends there too since last day of school! Best to you, Nedra 461-1621

Matthew - Wednesday, November 28th, 2007 10:37 AM
Hey John, had lunch with Chapman the other day... he seems to be doing pretty swell. I'm still struggling with many of my same demons (mostly women in the back of my mind) but things are gradually getting smoother. I still look forward to seeing you one of these days. Perhaps I could talk Shane into taking a roadtrip with me out that way. We're in Houston now and I'm finally beginning to write again. Miss you man.

Chris - Friday, September 14th, 2007 10:56 PM
You said you'd help me can up some pickled beans, but no you didn't come. I know you're hot, and this little town can't keep it up for you, but hey man, we had a deal. We drank vodka gimlets, without you, and howled at the moon; we saved a jarful for you 'til ten, then she drank that, too. Man, I'm glad you couldn't make it.

Aargh!!! I'm completely jealous you are playing snowlodge in January!!!!! I have been listening to your disc in my van and am lovin' it, btw! There are some really great songs on there(Communist tune coming to mind, also some sad tune referencing the Gardiner River bridge I really like, but I need to digest the whole disc a couple more times to let her sink in a touch)

Thanks for the disc and thanks for coming to Chico. Talk to you soon.

Hey John
It was great to hear you at the Caterina Winery in Spokane. (Even better to know that the next time we see each other you might actually remember my name.) LOL! Hope you are staying warm......Can't wait to see you again in Spokane with Annie and the rest of The Shop gang.

Susan Milke - Wednesday, November 8th, 2006 12:26 PM
Here you are in Portland, talking to the class and I'm trying to listen to your tunes-and (I'm winded from all this typing) I can't get it to load! Dang, I'm just going to have you sing in my office!

Larry Hirshberg - Friday, October 20th, 2006 3:09 PM
Hey John - I was just really impressed with your music at LP last night. You have it going on! Loved the songs, and the performances of same. And your sound was good, too! Pro. Two things - 1. Now I really want to open for you somewhere, or do a double bill. And, 2. I'm putting a link to your site at my site, www.larryhirshberg.com. And, oh, 3. HAve you played at Bitterroot Brewing in Hamilton? I just did my first gig there on Wednesday, and I'm going back each of the next two months. They'd love you there. Keep in touch, please. Blew me away. Larry (do I have to say "former Spectacle?")

Laura - Thursday, October 19th, 2006 9:28 AM
Thanks for accompanying me every morning at work (via your cd that I have become addicted to). Hearing you singing and playing makes my day!

I enjoyed your website, and music. I will let you know yes or no about Livingston Saturday Nights in the next day or so, thank you for your email. The event is put on by the Livingston Downtown Association and runs from 7 to 8:30 PM. The downtown association is a non-profit, so the budget is pretty minimal...

Additionally, I am one of the owners of The Owl Lounge - www.owllounge.com. We have a contest coming up (starts this Wed) that you might be interested in, and we still have a few spots open for late August.

I will call/email you soon.
Thanks!

dan leithauser - Sunday, July 30th, 2006 5:34 PM
great meeting you this weekend. Everyone's a bomb baby!
You really have something in your song... Tucson... I know you like the traditional, but from the outside looking in.. and as an affectionado and student of the unconventional... your talent lies in integrating all of your interests... the "Mazzy Star" comment was part of that... droning harmonica, improv, and unconventional with conventional elements draws in a lot of "alternative" listeners! Let me know if you need any favors in Missoula...

Katie P. - Monday, June 5th, 2006 6:27 AM
Reminds me of the days when music always flowed from the front porch! Great pictures, too!
